Less than a year after Merningen was founded, Edge of the Abyss marks the end of what you could call our formation phase: Bassist Lorenz joined shortly after this release.
Some seriously unholy recording techniques were at play here. Professionals: kindly look away 🙂 The drumset was recorded on just two microphones and for vocals we ended up using the laptop’s built-in microphone because we liked the sound.
Here’s some pictures. We had no ideas for the cover but at some point we ended up on the balcony, and it actually looks kinda good.
