New year, same stage: We started 2025 off with a performance at the Thalguterhaus in Algund: “Over and Out” was a graduation ball organized by students from 5TS4 at FOS Meran.
The whole weekend was quite the journey: We started packing our equipment on a warmer-than-usual friday morning and left in the early hours of sunday morning; nothing an experienced Merningen-member couldn’t handle. Stagehand Max was on board for the first time, too.
Thanks to the help of our go-to stand-ins Lukas (Keys) and Sara (Vocals) an enjoyable musical performance was to be expected. What we didn’t expect was so many of YOU showing up!! At the end of the night the audience quite literally invaded the stage during the final performance of “Highway to Hell” by ACDC.
To keep entertainment high but volume low during the last courses of the guests dinner we had an ace up our sleeves: Tobias, Sara and Lukas performed calmer songs together as Dark and Stormy. You should totally go check them out!
Another novum for us: We recorded many of the songs from multiple perspectives with the phenomenal gear from the arsenal of our sound technician Benjamin. I’ll do a separate blog-post once we publish those videos on YouTube 🙂
All in all it wasn’t just a fun night, but an entire weekend-long experience, many shared meals, some naps taken in hammocks (??) and a lot of messing around with walkie-talkies (you’ll have to wait for the “behind the scenes”-video to understand).
